Description
Yello - Time Lab
Timeless yet always fresh, Yello's fifteenth studio album, Time Lab, embodies their unique philosophy of blending past and future. Artists Dieter Meier and Boris Blank have crafted an album that takes listeners on a journey through sonic landscapes, where elements from Yello's extensive archive are meticulously reassembled into new and captivating soundscapes. This record showcases their signature style, merging romantic narratives with driving rhythms and Dadaist wordplay.
The album features tracks like "Around the Sun," which revisits a dormant Meier recording from 1981, given a modern Yello-esque makeover by Blank. Another standout, "Break Out," incorporates stylistic elements from Yello's early work, characterized by a prowling bassline, fiery percussion, and Meier's hypnotic storytelling. As Boris Blank puts it, "Yello's music doesn't really know time," a sentiment perfectly captured throughout Time Lab.
