Description
The Weatherman is a traditional folk album by Gregory Alan Isakov, born in Johannesburg and based in Colorado. This English-language audio CD features an album recorded mostly in solitude over a year and a half near Nederland, Colorado.
Isakov’s songwriting explores miles, landscapes and the search for a sense of place, with influences including Leonard Cohen and Bruce Springsteen. Weather recurs in his writing, while the album also reflects on finding beauty in everyday life.
Recorded with analogue equipment and mixed on tape, the songs have a raw, vulnerable sound. The album was originally released in 2013.
