Moses Boyd - Songs For Sinners [CD]

Songs For Sinners is Moses Boyd’s second solo album, released on CD. It’s for listeners drawn to music that brings together jazz, gospel and electronic sounds.

Boyd is a drummer, composer and producer whose work expands the possibilities of jazz. On this album, gospel sits alongside soundsystem culture, 808s, choir harmonies and Caribbean rhythms, as he explores belief as a personal and human experience.

The album moves between bruised jazz chords, bass-heavy soundsystem weight, electronic pulses, organ and communal singing. It follows the restless imagination heard on “Rye Lane Shuffle” with a sound that reaches beyond genre boundaries.
