Description
Insurgentes is Steven Wilson’s debut solo album, presented here as a remastered black 2LP in a gatefold sleeve. It suits listeners looking for a dark, cinematic record that moves between ballads, anthems and industrial noise.
Wilson is a multi-instrumentalist, producer and founding member of Porcupine Tree. The album brings together two years of creative work and recording sessions in locations including Mexico City, Japan and Israel.
Its richly textured sound reflects what Wilson called a “poetry of melancholy”. Guest musicians include bassist Tony Levin, drummer Gavin Harrison, keyboardist Jordan Rudess, koto player Michiyo Yagi, guitarist Sand Snowman and jazz flautist and saxophonist Theo Travis.
